Michael Heitkemper-YatesWykłada literaturę brytyjską i amerykańską na Uniwersytecie w Kobe w Japonii, gdzie prowadzi zajęcia z teorii narracji, współczesnej literatury amerykańskiej, teorii fikcji oraz kompozycji tekstów naukowych. Jego publikacje w książkach i czasopismach naukowych dotyczą narracji graficznych, ironii w narracji, metafikcji, semiotyki parodii, a także Marcela Duchampa, Josepha Cornella, Roberta Coovera i Donalda Barthelme’a. Obecnie pracuje nad książką o poetyce postmodernistycznej ironii w teoriach narracji i w fikcji literackiej.
